MacMurray Foundation & Alumni Association (MFAA) announces a second year of making grants with the application process which opens July 1, 2026, with applications due by October 31, 2026. Awards will be up to $5,000.

The Foundation is looking for grant proposals that continue MacMurray College’s legacy of helping students by enhancing their educational programs or by helping not-for-profit organizations serve their communities. The Foundation expects the grants program to be competitive. For year two the categories for proposals are:

  • Educational Grants: These grants will provide financial resources to not-for-profit organizations or school districts seeking to enhance educational programs.
  • Community Project Grants: These grants will provide financial resources to not-for-profit organizations seeking to create or improve a project that is beneficial to the community.

In making the announcement Foundation Board Chair David Ekin stated, “making grants was one of the goals when we were founded in 2020. Although there is limited funding, this helps us fulfill our mission of continuing the legacy of MacMurray College. Hopefully donors will help the fund grow over time.”

Jane Freiburg Nickerson, Chair of the Grants Committee, hopes the MacMurray Foundation can support several grants to help provide funds for innovative educational and community projects. Nickerson stated, “We are looking for people and organizations to submit proposals that will make a difference in their educational or community settings. The Foundation wants to support interesting projects that benefit students or local communities.”

Anyone or organization who wants to submit a proposal may apply by going to the Foundation’s website at www.MacAlumFoundation.org and clicking on Grants on the Home Page. The application will open July 1st, 2026 and conclude on October 31st, 2026.
